There has been an increase of Korean related assaults in Angeles City recently.  Some speculate they are isolated incidents related to a Korean Mafia who may now be occupying the area.

A Korean national was seriously wounded after two gunmen assaulted him at the commercial district of Barangay Balibago here Sunday night.


Min Sik Cho, 32, is now critical condition after he sustained a lone gunshot wound on the head.


Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, Angeles City police chief, said the victim was with his girlfriend when the two suspects riding a motorcycle attacked him.


The Korean businessman and his companion were on their way home before the shooting transpired.


Bautista said they are now conducting an investigation to identify the suspects in the shooting incident.

Min Sik Cho, 32, who sustained a lone gunshot wound on the head, was saved after undergoing medical operation, said Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, Angeles City police chief.


The single bullet that hit the back part of the victim’s neck went out his left chick, according to Bautista.


“Siguro .38 caliber ang ginamit na baril nung suspect na nakatama sa biktima,” Bautista said.


Bautista revealed that a police officer is now being investigated in connection with the incident.


However, the police official refused to give further details on the probe.


The victim was with his girlfriend when the two suspects riding a motorcycle attacked him.


The Korean businessman and his companion were on their way home before the shooting transpired.
